From the “Papillon” sandals to the “Sky” flats: how a leather bow is cut, and why we made it the atelier's mark.
Leaf through the women's collection and you will notice a red thread — or, more precisely, a bow: on the “Papillon" sandals, on the “Rubin", on the “Sky" flats. It is not an accessory bought by the metre; every bow is cut and stitched in the atelier.
How to make a bow that lasts
A leather bow has three pieces: the body, the loops and the central ring. Cut separately, skived thin at the edges (otherwise the bow sits "puffy"), stitched in steps and only then mounted on the shoe. The leather must be soft enough to tie beautifully yet firm enough not to droop after one summer — that balance is craft too.
Interchangeable
The best-loved detail: on many models the bows can be swapped. The same nude sandal wears a blush bow today, a black suede one tomorrow, a metallic leather one at a wedding. Effectively one pair — three shoes.
