A handmade pair of shoes is one of the most personal gifts possible. And one of the riskiest, if bought by guesswork.
Why the size in the wardrobe does not help
You could look inside his shoes and read “42”. The trouble is that 42 at one brand is not 42 at another, and for a made-to-order shoe size is not even the unit of measure — the last is.
The solution: a voucher
You buy the value, not the object. The recipient comes to the atelier (or sends measurements remotely), is measured, chooses model and leather. The gift effectively becomes two: the pair and the experience of choosing it.
The voucher is valid for a year. If it is exceeded we honour it anyway — no point losing a client over a calendar date.
The mixed version, the nicest one
Most common in practice: you choose the model and colour, and they come only for measuring. That keeps the surprise and removes the risk. We help you choose if you tell us what they usually wear.
Ideas, briefly
- For a man who wears suits — a patent loafer or a patinated derby. Something he would not buy himself.
- For someone in trainers — leather sneakers. The biggest surprise, because nobody expects a made-to-order sneaker.
