Your first visit to the atelier: what happens, step by step
You do not need to know what you want in advance. Here is how a first conversation goes, how long it takes and what you leave with.
Many people put off a first visit to an atelier because they imagine a complicated conversation full of technical terms. It is not. Here is exactly what happens.
1. The conversation (10 minutes)
You tell us what you want. It can be a model from the collection, a photo found online, an old pair you wore until it fell apart and cannot find anywhere, or simply “something elegant for the office, in burgundy”. All are good starting points.
This is also where we tell you honestly what cannot be done or would not look good — more useful than accepting anything.
2. The measurements (10 minutes)
The sole is traced; length, width and instep girth are measured on both feet. For boots, the calf too. You stay shod until the end; nothing uncomfortable.
3. The leather (10 minutes)
This is the decision that changes the result most. You see and touch real leather in daylight — a colour on a screen and the same colour on leather are different things. We explain how each behaves in wear, what care it needs and how it ages.
4. Price and lead time (5 minutes)
By the end you know exactly what it costs and when it will be ready. Price follows model, leather and complexity; the usual lead time is 2–4 weeks. No later surprises.
What does not happen
Nobody pushes. The visit commits you to nothing — many people leave, think for a week and come back. The measurements stay with us, so the second conversation is much shorter.

Everything can be done remotely: we send the measuring guide, you send the outline and the numbers, and you choose the leather from photographs taken in daylight. We ship by courier across Europe.
